LA FESTA, THE FIRST ITALIAN MOVIE 2.0 DISTRIBUTED ON DAILYMOTION
Young Milanese director Simone Scafidi accepted the challenge within the creative project of Ardaco, Lo Scrittoio and Gagarin to create a brand-new audiovisual product into the Italian scenery. You can watch online the first episode of his movie : La Festa.
The movie goes beyond the traditional concept of cinema. Why? Because it fuses together art, photography and music into a single creative project available free of charge and based on the direct interaction with the user.
La Festa is a horror movie that tells the story of 10 teenagers in a villa on the hills suddenly finding themselves playing with their lives after the irruption of 4 intruders.
The movie, created for the web and subtitled in English, has been divided into episodes to allow short scenes and contents contaminate the network by sharing the episodes on social networks. For the first time in fact even also the launch and promotion step took place via the web.
The result was successful: the first 7 episodes have received to date, on Dailymotion platform alone, over 130 thousand views from around the world !
The web streaming also allows La Festa to overcome the filters and censorships imposed for theatre viewing and be seen as the first Italian movie to have undertaken this kind of distribution; a kind of declaration of independence born from the desire to recover a direct relationship with the viewer.
The image and poster of the movie were designed and carried out by Marco Bolognesi, a renowned artist and film maker who has worked in London for several years. Present on the set during shooting, he has made six portraits of some of the characters, that will soon be declined into merchandise and collectibles.
Some frames of the movie will also become digital works to collect and share, in line with the promotion of the movie itself, which declines the different arts on the network – even the soundtrack is available for free on Soundcloud. The product thus contaminates the web and allows it to be used in different ways, thanks to the cross-media concept intrinsic in the project.
Watch next episodes on 19th December, 26th and 27th December.
