Movie Trailers This Week: Kristen Bell’s a Lifeguard, Lovelace, Curse of Chucky
Two weeks ago (sorry for partying), we showed you new trailers for the Steve Jobs biopic starring Ashton Kutcher, another Stallone-Schwarzenegger collabo in Escape Plan, Brad Pitt and a host of A-listers in The Counselor and more. This week, we’ve got new promos for Kristen Bell’s dramedy The Lifeguard, another Chucky flick, Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace and more. Grab a bucket of popcorn, avoid the nachos, and take in the top new trailers to hit Dailymotion.
The Lifeguard with Kristen Bell via FanReviews
“A former valedictorian quits her reporter job in New York and returns to the place she last felt happy: her childhood home in Connecticut. She gets work as a lifeguard and starts a dangerous relationship with a troubled teenager.”
Hey, I get this. I almost did this. Give up, give in, move back home. You see this trend more and more in movies. Everyone has their breaking point. I’d probably break when that old chick tells me to, “Grow up!” I’ll end you, lady.
The Curse of Chucky via FanReviews
“A young woman forced to a wheelchair since birth, has to regroup her sister, brother-in-law and their daughter for a funeral after the death of her mother. She receives an odd package – Chucky.”
I don’t want to see this. I want to see a documentary of how this movie got greenlit.
Lovelace via FanReviews
“Story of Linda Lovelace, who is used and abused by the porn industry at the behest of her coercive husband, before taking control of her life.”
I’ve been 0 for my last 3 attempts at landing a girlfriend. Yet these abusive types not only land these chicks, but marry them and hold them captive. I need a forget-me-now.
Europa Report via Fan Reviews
“An international crew of astronauts undertakes a privately funded mission to search for life on Jupiter’s fourth largest moon.”
Sooooo, like Alien but closer to home? Cast includes Sharlto Copley (yes) and Dan Fogler (interesting).
Wasteland via Teaser Trailer
“An arrested man recounts a foiled robbery, and subsequent attempted murder of a local businessman. His release from prison, the malevolent, unjust act that put him in there, his emotional reunion with best friends, rekindling of a lost love, and the ingenious planning of the ill-fated robbery, the amazing twist, the shocking outcome and the real driving force behind it.”
So, there you have it. There’s a twist. Am I the only one who thinks announcing there will be a twist ruins the twist? I mean if someone tells me the song Twist ‘n’ Shout is coming on, I don’t get as excited.
Dealin’ with Idiots via CineStars
“Faced with the absurd competitiveness surrounding his son’s youth league baseball team, Max Morris, a famous comedian, decides to get to know the colorful parents and coaches of the team better in an attempt to find the inspiration for his next movie.”
There’s at least one employee at every company that has this idea.
The Time Being via ScreenPlay
“An artist meets a mysterious and wealthy benefactor and their relationship is not what it appears to be.”
Oooooooo. Is there a twist? Wait, don’t answer that. Seems like everyone who’s wealthy is also mysterious. Guess you have to be so keep people on their toes, so they don’t rob you blind.
The Philosophers via Teaser Trailer
“A philosophy teacher challenges his class of twenty graduating seniors to choose which ten of them would take shelter underground and reboot the human race in the event of a nuclear apocalypse.”
I wish we had these kind of exercises in my philosophy class. Do you go 5 guys, 5 girls or 9 guys, 1 girl, or 9 girls and 1 guy? I feel like it’s latter. Can you imagine being that 1 dude? JACKPOT. Ain’t no alimony or child support during the apocalypse.
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones via Teaser Trailer
“A seemingly ordinary teenager discovers she is the descendant of a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. Based on the worldwide best-selling book series.”
Twilight 2.0. One of many Twilight 2.0s. Damn you, Twilight.
Thanks for Sharing via Teaser Trailer
“Three people undergo a 12-step treatment for sex addiction.”
All I can think about is Chazz Michael Michaels in Blades of Glory. It’s a real disease with doctors and medicine and everything!
