This week, we’ve got new promos for the highly anticipated Steve Jobs biopic starring Ashton Kutcher, another Stallone-Schwarzenegger collabo in Escape Plan, Brad Pitt and a host of other A-list stars in The Counselor, indie darling The Spectacular Now, and more. Grab a bucket of popcorn, avoid the nachos, and watch, comment, share the top new trailers to hit Dailymotion in the past seven days.
Jobs via Fan Reviews
“The story of Steve Jobs’ ascension from college dropout into one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of the 20th century.”
We called this one of the most interesting films premiering at Sundance. ‘Interesting’ can be intrepreted in a number of ways. In this case, casting Ashton Kutcher as a ‘genius’. The film was completed in early December 2012 and will release on August 16th. Dermot Mulroney, James Woods, Matthew Modine, J.K. Simmons, and Josh Gad (as Steve Wozniak) co-star.
Escape Plan via Fan Reviews
“The world’s foremost authority on structural security spent his life analyzing every high security prison and learning a vast array of survival skills so he can design escape-proof prisons. His skills are put to the test when he’s framed and incarcerated in a master prison he designed himself. He needs to escape and find the person who put him behind bars.”
Action thriller stars Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. I’m glad they’re working together, but this should’ve happened 20-25 years ago, fellas.
Passion via Teaser Trailer
“The rivalry between the manipulative boss of an advertising agency and her talented protégée escalates from stealing credit to public humiliation to murder.”
Meh. I heard that! If the logline leaves you lacking, check out the plot keywords on imdb – “Lesbian Kiss”, “Female Female Kiss”, and “Erotica”. Color me excited.
The thriller stars Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace (Swedish Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, Prometheus).
The Spectacular Now via Clevver Movies
“A charming, hard-partying high school senior gets dumped by his girlfriend then gets drunk and wakes up on a lawn with a nerdy ‘nice girl’ hovering over him. Though they appear to be opposites, the attraction is strong.”
This is another entry on our list of the most interesting films premiering at Sundance. It stars Shailene Woodley, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Brie Larson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Miles Teller (21 & Over and Project X) and Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad, Mr. Show).
This has fling written all over it. I don’t really know too many polar opposites who’ve had a long-lasting relationship other than Paula Abdul and that animated dancing cat from her music video.
The Counselor via Fan Reviews
“A lawyer finds himself in over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking.”
The thriller stars Brad Pitt, Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell from Game of Thrones), Michael Fassbender, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, John Leguizamo, and Rosie Perez.
Cocaine is a helluva drug.
Crystal Fairy via MyFilm-GR
“A boorish, insensitive American twentysomething traveling in Chile takes a road trip north to experience a legendary shamanistic hallucinogen called the San Pedro cactus. He meets an eccentric woman named Crystal Fairy and invites her to join his journey.”
This adventure comedy stars Michael Cera and Gaby Hoffman (Field of Dreams, Uncle Buck). Its director, Sebastian Silva, won the Directing Award in the World Cinema – Dramatic category at Sundance and was nominated for Sundance’s Grand Jury Prize.
Adore via Fan Reviews
“A pair of childhood friends and neighbors fall for each other’s sons.”
The Australian drama stars Robin Wright, Naomi Watts, and Ben Mendelsohn (Daggett in Dark Knight Rises).
I cross the line a lot and I’ve come close to making things irreversibly awkward, but I’ve never done something like this. When it creeps ME out, be prepared to watch your skin crawl away from you.
Short Term 12 via ScreenPlay
“A 20-something supervising staff member of a foster care facility navigates the troubled waters of that world alongside her co-worker and longtime boyfriend.”
No offense to everyone involved in this film, but there is not one word in that logline that makes me want to see it. That’s just me. I’m a jerk.
