New Movie Trailers This Week: Hunger Games, Man of Steel, Filth
Last week, we showed you new trailers for Elysium, Rush, Carrie, and more. This week, we’ve got funky fresh promos for The Hunger Games Catching Fire, Man of Steel, The Hangover Part III, The Lone Ranger, James McAvoy acting downright dirty in Filth, and more. Grab a bucket of popcorn, avoid the nachos, and watch, comment, share the top new trailers to hit Dailymotion in the past seven days.

I remember catching this during or after the MTV Movie Awards and getting way way too excited for a grown man in his early 30s. I know I shouldn’t be into this crap, but that darn Jenny Lawrence keeps tickling my fancy. For some reason, I chuckle when I see the commonfolk throw up the Girl Scout gesture and when Katniss says, “Go ahead”. So Dirty Harry-esque. Also, I love the word “eradicate” and I need to get that whistle as my ringtone.

It can be difficult to get pumped for reboots and remakes when you expounded so much energy on the previous franchise release less than a decade prior. It’s why I didn’t see Amazing Spider-Man in theaters but decided to give it a chance on premium cable. I was frothing at the mouth for Superman Returns and was let down. I was expecting a similar Amazing Spider-Man feeling when I saw this latest trailer for Man of Steel, but it looks like Hollywood can flash the Men in Black memory-erasing flash-pen after all because yet again I have trailer-rabies. Although, this new trend of not saying the superhero’s or villain’s name is sort of getting ridiculous, right?
The Hangover Part III Trailer via ClevverMovies
This hit the ‘net right as I hit ‘publish’ on last week’s post. Love that Leslie Chow drives the plot. “I love cocaine!” will be the line of this summer. Really hoping Melissa McCarthy’s cameo lives up to the hype.

What’s up with girls slapping guys then kissing them? What’s up with girls who like it rough? What’s the diagnosis on that? Anyway, this is from the team who brought us the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which I opted out of after the first release. I’m sure it will do okay at the box office based on the pull-power of Johnny Deep and Armie Hammer. I’m also sure it’ll be the go-to Halloween costume for guys with girlfriends.
WARNING: EXPLICIT, GRAPHIC LANGUAGE AND CONTENT AHEAD, MATEY!
Filth Redband Trailer via IGN
Really peeved this isn’t getting a theatrical release in the U.S. Looks like I’ll be flying to the UK in September then hoofing it to Germany for the October screenings.

I really have no idea how to describe this movie. It sounds like you have to be in a severely “altered” state of mind to appreciate it. This Special Jury Prize winner at Sundance comes from writer-director Shane Carruth whose last effort Primer won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance.

“A farming family’s business is threatened by an unexpected crisis, further testing the relationship between a father and his rebellious son.”
Why do I feel like the dad will say this line at some point during the movie, “This isn’t the time, (insert son’s name)!”
The Numbers Station via Video Detective
“A former black ops agent and the young woman he’s assigned to protect fight for survival after a surprise attack.”
I just recently found out that not only is Malin Akerman married (since 2007!), she just had a baby. Completely caught me off-guard. Cross that off the wish list.
PS – When is John Cusack gonna ditch the leading man action hero schtick and give us the good stuff? Looking forward to Hot Tub Time Machine 2.

“The Maguire family is forced to take sudden refuge in a seemingly abandoned storm cellar from a deadly tornado.”
And that tornado is actually the family long lost son that everylone left for dead after a tragic freak accident. And that long lost son is actually a girl. And that girl is actually a ghost. And that ghost is actually just a figment of a chipmunk’s imagination. And that chipmunk is actually a dream. And that dream is actually a software program created by self-aware robots. Nailed it.
