If you haven’t noticed lately, we’ve got a bunch of Dailymotioners (Dailymotionites?) down at South by Southwest (“SXSW” for all you insider types). While the Motionmaker Team interviews up-and-coming filmmakers screening their work as part of our “Young Guns” series, our Senior Editor Tony Layser discusses deep thoughts on small matters with celebrities for our “Profound Minutiae” series.

In the first interview, Tony gabs with the gifted musician from IFC’s Comedy Bang Bang and “this generation’s Paul Shaffer” Reggie Watts. As you can see from the end product above, the series is like a thinking man’s version of Between Two Ferns sans plants.

Like many fans of Comedy Bang Bang, I craved more than last season’s light 10 episode offering. Luckily, IFC double-downed on the order for season two with twenty episodes on the docket. The premiere is set for sometime in the summer and a finale in the fall.

Reggie is also one of the Luminaries behind the new JASH Network, co-founded by Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera, and Tim &Eric. We’re hoping they come to their comedic senses and partner with us in the near future.
