Music Videos of the Week: Thrift Shop, Bingo Players, The Sword of the Seraphs

Last week we featured music videos from Duologue, Matthew E. White, Ben Harper, Honeybird & The Birdies, and Juicy J. This week we’ve got high levels of Far East Movement, proof that indie songs/labels can still chart big, a no-nonsense boot-knocking track, a high-grade J to smoke to, an angelic / hypnotic song custom made for Game of Thrones, and BINGO… players. Enjoy our eclectic mixtape below.
“Thrift Shop” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz via Blastro Networks
This is the fifth and final single from the duo’s collaborative debut studio album The Heist. The sleeper hit peaked on the US Billboard Hot 100 at number 1 while selling over 2 million copies in total, also reaching #1 in Canada, Denmark, Australia and New Zealand. It’s the second independent song to achieve the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“Class A” by Demrick via Skee TV
Formally known as Young De, Demrick has been described as “raw and soulful” and is best known for his collaborations with Xzibit, Kurupt, Snoop Dogg, Too $hort, B-Real and Cypress Hill. Not sure if you noticed, but he likes to smoke.

“Ain’t Coming Down (Yeah I’m Trippin’ Mix)” by Far East Movement via Blank TV
This track comes from their fourth studio album titled, Dirty Bass, which was released on June 12, 2012. Despite having two top 40 hit singles, the album sold poorly.

“The Sword of the Seraphs Battle Hymn” via Videobash
No idea who this is, but she needs to be part of my hangover remedy process. She could even double as a cure for insomnia. We need something to take the edge off from all that Far East Movement.

“Know Y I Came” by Ty Dolla $ign via BLCKDMNDS
Tydolla$ign’s initial claim to fame was through the success of “Toot It & Boot It”, a song he wrote and produced for YG. In 2011, he released his first single “All Star”. His song “My Cabana” was ranked in Complex’s Best 50 Songs of 2012 list st #23. This is THE go-to track when you want to get down to business.
