Motionmakers of the Week: Historical Figgaz, Kitty Hate, PowerPoint Break-up

Last week, we showed you a captivating time-lapse video of an astronaut’s view from space, an animated tribute to James Brown, a real Debbie Downer, a soulful rebirth of 90s hip hop, and a dude who’s down with chowing down off a girl’s belly. This week’s crop of creatives includes a couple trippy animations, an educational rap, a visually stunning moving postcard, and a very thorough break up explanation. Check out the latest and greatest from our Motionmaker community below.
“I Hate Kitties” by Reed and Rader
This trippy animation from Pamela Reed and Matthew Rader is like Tim Burton meets Tim and Eric with some Scott Pilgrim vs. The World mixed in for good measure. Hate’s a strong word but I do believe cats are the spawn of Satan.

“Self Absorb – Chapter 1″ by Ian Obermuller
So, you thought the first video was trippy? This one from graphic designer Ian Obermuller will blow your brain straight out of your skull. It’s Planet of the Apes meets 2001 A Space Odyssey.

“Break Up With PowerPoint” by Pierre Croce
Very clear cut. Pierre is Dailymotion’s Content & Partnership Manager in our French office. I can’t wait for the break up by Microsoft Excel.

“Inventor’s Day – Historical Figgaz” by Electric Shadow Films
They created the rap game. I’m a sucker for people popping into frame from weird and unexpected positions.
We take the creative sparks flying around in our heads and make movies out of them!
Electric Shadow Films is an award-winning collaboration between filmmakers Nick Nielsen, Gabe Conroy, and Robert Bojorquez. Their accolades range from jury awards voted upon by film festival committees to audience awards decided by spectators.

“In Search of Argentina” by Joshua Michie
Joshua broke into the industry as a compositor for Pixel Blue FX, and worked on a show for the Discovery Channel. He then received a scholarship to the Vancouver Film School’s Digital Design program. He has worked with brands like Starbucks, Sky TV, and Apple, through great teams like Blast Radius and Neon Pictures.
