7 Sensational Nic Cage Videos to Rage to

January 7th is a day that will forever live in infamy. It’s the day one of the most polarizing figures of all-time made his debut on Earth (though some would argue this beast is otherworldly). Happy birthday, Nicolas Cage!
Nic’s thrown plenty of fits over the years and they’ve all been unforgettable. So, we decided to throw together this list of Cage-y videos to celebrate the anniversary of his arrival. He’s yet to crack the 50 year mark, so we can expect at least another solid decade of memorable performances. If he’s not in Expendables 7, we’ll be sorely disappointed.
1. The Man Who Couldn’t Say No
The nephew of Francis Ford Coppola and Talia Shire and cousin to Roman and Sofia Coppola and Jason Schwartzman is Hollywood royalty though many might perceive him to be the court jester.
The Elvis enthusiast claims to have an acting style all his own and we don’t disagree. Hell, if you’re an up-and-coming actor, you need to study him and make it your mission to nail it so you, too, can learn how to nod at any and all job offers.
Roger Ebert said Nic is “unafraid to crawl out on a limb, saw it off and remain suspended in air.” In other words, he’s a human cartoon — the personification of Looney Tunes. And I could watch that ALL DAY LONG.
2. Top 10 Nic Cage Facts
His stage name was inspired by the comic book character Luke Cage, who had:
- Superhuman strength, stamina, and durability
- Unbreakable skin that is highly impervious to damage and temperature
- Accelerated healing factor
- Excellent street fighter and hand-to-hand combatant
If you think Mr. Cage lacks any of these abilities, you have a private invite to meet him at one of his 2 castles to prove him and me wrong.
3. Top 10 Nicolas Cage Movies
Pretty spot-on list. If there were honorable mentions, I’d consider throwing Lord of War, The Weather Man, and his cameo as Dr. Fu Manchu in Grindhouse on there.
4. Best Scenes from The Wicker Man
Haha. Confiscating a bike. Beating the pee-pee out of women and children. Jarring zoom cuts. Dressing up as a bear. And, of course … NOT THE BEES!!! I still haven’t seen this gem, but judging from these scenes, it should be required viewing for all stoner horror movie fans.
5. He Got the NMA Taiwanese Animation Treatment
To be honest, Next Media Animation should have a whole series of these dedicated to Nic Cage. They could make ‘em up and they’d still probably be half-true.
6. He Might Be a Vampire
The first step is denial. We all know that. If ANYONE was more of a bloodsucker than Nic, I’d be shocked. You ever see him in the same room with garlic? No. Sure, he walks around in the daylight, but vampires adapt. They’re not the Amish.
7. He Might Be a Puppet
Even less shocking than Nic being a vampire is the certain likelihood that he’s merely a puppet operated by a wee person. He’s probably both vampire and puppet – a vampet?. Why would you want to create a vampire puppet? It gets boring out in Hollyweird sometimes. If you’re not into video games, this is the next best thing.
