Travel + Leisure Magazine conducted a survey with the objective of determining which cities had the most and least attractive people in the United States. How superficial! But, let’s get serious, that’s just human nature. It takes a really good soul to look beyond the surface, but sometimes we need an escape from the everyday plain Janes and Jims. Of course, if you live in Miami (#1), San Diego (#2), or San Juan, Puerto Rico (#3), the everyday plain Janes and Jims are located on the far right of the bell curve everywhere else (read: on fire, 11s on a scale of 1-10, face-melters).

The most surprising rankings to me were:

Las Vegas (at #23) and Phoenix/Scottsdale (#25)

Both of these cities are loaded with dancers, models, actresses, etc. Sure, they’ve probably had some work done… maybe a little too much work, but their entire profession is based on their looks. Maybe the lesson here is America prefers its peeps to be au natural?

Other surprises:

Minny / St Paul at 10

Unless I missed something, the Twin Cities never really had a reputation for ravishing residents. When I think of the area, stuff like Target, a super large mall, stadium collapses, ice fishing, and party boats come to mind. But, after finding out that Analeigh Tipton (America’s Next Top Model), Rachael Leigh Cook (She’s All That), and Kelly Carlson (Nip/Tuck) were born there, I’m open to scouting for more talent there.

Providence at 13

I used to live in Cranston, which is about 30 seconds outside of Providence and there were definitely a ton of hot girls (hey, I was 11-13 when I lived there), but it was definitely a limited group. Wasn’t really THAT diverse. If you weren’t Italian and you’re not a fan of that look, you might be out of luck. Luckily, I was into that. Maybe Miss USA 2012 Olivia Culpo swung the vote?

And for those residents of Anchorage, Alaska (#35 aka last place) who gives a flying moose knuckle about this list? You can’t really be picky up there anyway, you’re just trying to stay warm. The more body the better.
