‘Bendito Machine‘ is an animated series created by Jossie Malis and produced by Zubakamera. To me, it feels like ‘Angry Birds’ meets ‘War of the Worlds’. In each installment, there’s a simple, primitive community that becomes corrupted and unravels thanks to greed and the advancement of technology for the sake of profit.

‘Bendito’ is an expression used to show sympathy, sorrow, frustration and exasperation. Sounds like a downer, right? But it’s not. It’s like watching an ant farm go haywire. So, the message is we’re better off without machines? Sha right. We could barely survive a week without power thanks to Sandy.

Regardless of your political bent or opinions on the evils (or greater good) of technology, you have to admit the show is a spectacle for the eye and thoroughly thought-provoking despite the lack of actual dialogue. And IRONY alert – these projects were funded by Kickstarter. See? The machines haven’t become self-aware just yet.
