The rapid advancement of technology scares me when it’s not amazing me. I thoroughly enjoyed our ‘Fan Cam’ at the Virgin Mobile FreeFest a couple weeks ago; the Google Glass project seemed like a practical joke, but apparently it’s real; then I saw the cautionary tale ‘Sight‘ by Sight Systems which takes Google Glass to an entirely new, exciting, and frightening level of augmented reality.

‘Touchy’ falls somewhere between Fan Cam and Google Glass. It (or should I say “he”) is a human camera who’s blind until someone’s touch — in this case, an attractive female — enables the opening of the camera’s shutters. (As an aside, he’s also got an awesome avatar.) When that someone maintains physical contact with him, it triggers the camera to shoot a photo every 10 seconds. Same thing happens to me only I shoot something else … mental images that save to my ‘Fantasy File.’ Creepy!
