10 Actresses Who Should Be in the All-Female ‘Expendables’

Recently, it was announced that former MMA legend turned action star Gina Carano would be the first to join the cast of an all-female version of ‘Expendables’ that’s in the works. It got us thinking – which other female action stars should be in the movie?
While most ‘top female action star’ lists feature feisty foxes like Angelina Jolie, Kate Beckinsale, and Jessica Alba – you won’t find them here. This fantasy team is comprised of hard-nosed girls who can take a punch to the grill and still look hot while exacting revenge.
1. Linda Hamilton
You won’t see a bigger transformation from passive little princess to merciless mercenary than we did with Linda Hamilton from 1984′s Terminator to 1991′s T2: Judgment Day. That role alone solidifies her place in the female Expendables. Black tanktop, ponytail, ripped arms, big pillowy lips and a glare that will scare the skin off of you.
2. Milla Jovovich
Some would say there have been way too many Resident Evil films. To those people we say, ‘Milla what? Milla who? Milla what? Milla who?’ to the tune of Jay-Z’s Jigga What. Why? Because we can’t get enough of that song and we can’t get enough Milla.
She first showed off her action chops in The Fifth Element, flying through the air in slow-mo. It was part ballet, part balls-to-the-wall berzerk. The zombies in the RE franchise drool extra hard when chasing her.
3. Sigourney Weaver
If you didn’t bite your knuckle when Ripley climbed into that space suit in her undies at the end of Alien, you’re an android. She was the first major female action star on the silver screen and would most likely serve as mentor of the rogue crew we’re assembling for this film (with Linda Hamilton as second-in-command who possibly goes turns villain on everyone after butting heads with Weaver one too many times).
4. Carrie Ann Moss
We all remember her steely acrobatic performance as Trinity in the Matrix series, but have you ever seen her in Memento? She’d be sexcellent as the villain’s Terminator-esque sidekick-lackey-henchwoman.
5. Uma Thurman
The beatings she took in Kill Bill: Volumes 1 & 2 were some of the most brutal ever caught on camera – especially for a woman. That’s how she earned big-time brownie points and bad-assery badges for the rest of her days.
I can easily see her being the silent assassin in the All-Female Expendables who pops in and out of action sequences to slit throats when you least expect it.
6. Lucy Lawless
You can’t play a warrior princess and expect to get left off this roster. Lucy was this generation’s Wonder Woman only with more brawn and bi-curiosity. I could see her siding with Hamilton and Moss on the antagonist side or toeing the line between good and evil as a double agent of sorts. She’ll def double somethin’ on ya, tell ya that much.
7. Lynda Carter
Speaking of Wonder Woman, Mrs. Carter was, without a doubt, the one female superhero most tomboys and aspiring-invisible-plane pilots looked up to growing up.
Of course, there has to be at least one scene in which she handles a lasso. Or, at the very least, stands with her fists on her hips.
8. Laila Ali
Oh yeah, Expendables didn’t restrict its lineup to just actors, so we’re applying the same formula here. Arguably considered the greatest female boxer of all-time, Muhammad’s daughter will be a welcome 1-2 punch to the cast and should excel in the nose-breaking category.

9. Liz Gorman
Who? We had to throw a curveball in there. Or should we say a pigskin? Liz is a Lingerie Football League All-Star. Just as “Expendables’ had former football player turned actor Terry Crews, the All-Female version will have its gridiron great form-tackling turkeys left and right.
10. Ronda Rousey
It’s the dream matchup we’ll never get in real life – Gina Carano going toe-to-toe with the next Gina Carano, Ronda Rousey. SIGN. US. UP.
