Models come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. You have the curvy pinups, the inked up SuicideGirls, plus size, and the statuesque runway models. That latter group might be the most scrutinized of the modeling world for their appearance. Some cite they have unhealthy dietary habits, which set a bad example for young girls who want to emulate them. While we’re sure some models succumb to the “wrong way” of getting ahead, we still feel there are people out there who are genetically gifted and just physically superior to us run-of-the-mill folk.

With Fashion Week in NYC coming to a close, we decided to unveil our top 10 runway models in the game right now. The women on this list all have the look, but they also have something else – a certain expression, or the way they strut – that separates them from the rest of the pack. 10. Frida Gustavsson

The 19-year-old Swede ranked 17th on Models.com’s Top 50 Female Models list and won Elle Sweden’s Model of the Year award in 2011. She’s appeared in ads for H&M, Prada, and Marc Jacobs in addition to magazines like Vogue, W, and, of course, Elle. Her runway experience includes shows for Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana and many more.

9. Arizona Muse

The soon-to-be 24-year-old who was born in Tucson ranked third on Models.com’s list of the top 50 female models in the world. She’s appeared in magazines like Vogue, W, V, Numero and Dazed & Confused plus campaigns for Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Fendi, and David Yurman.

8. Constance Jablonski

The 21-year-old French model ranked 8th on Models.com’s list of the top 50 Women. She’s graced the runways for Donna Karan, Dior, Gucci, Burberry, and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show the past two years. Her ad work includes shoots for GAP, Estee Lauder, and Nine West. You could also see her in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Allure, and Vanity Fair.

7. Karlie Kloss

The 20-year-old from Chicago placed 2nd on Models.com’s Top 50 Women list. Vogue Paris called her one of the top models of the 2000s and People magazine named her the best model in 2008. She’s appeared in ads for brands like Lacoste, Bergdorf Goodman, Oscar de la Renta, and American Eagle and in magazines like Vogue, Vanity Fair, W, Elle, and Allure. Last year, she walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

6. Abbey Lee Kershaw

The 25-year-old from Melbourne, Australia landed at the #4 spot on Models.com’s Top 50 Women list. That same publication named her the ‘Next Superstar’ in 2007. She’s walked for Oscar de la Renta, Fendi, D&G, Versace, and the Victoria’s Secret Show. The hospital-prone Aussie was the face of Chanel and had appeared in the Pirelli Calendars shot by Terry Richardson and Karl Lagerfeld. V Magazine called her the new Supermodel.

5. Joan Smalls

The 24-year-old Puerto Rican has appeared in campaigns for Rag & Bone, Roberto Cavalli, Givenchy, and Barneys New York in addition to magazines like V, W, Vogue, GQ, and i-D. She also owned the runway in last year’s Victoria’s Secret show. Models.com currently has her ranked as the top model in the world.

4. Lindsey Wixson

The 5’10″ blue-eyed blonde 18-year-old from Wichita, Kansas ranked 11th on Models.com’s Top 50 Women list. She’s known for her unique look – notably her big, pouty lips and gapped front teeth. She’s done campaigns for Jill Stuart and Alexander McQueen and has appeared in magazines like W, Vogue, and i-D. Vogue UK called her the modeling world’s biggest rising star. At her prom, she wore a dress from the same designer who put together Michelle Obama’s piece worn at her husband’s inauguration.

3. Edita Vilkeviciute

The 23-year-old Lithuanian was born on New Year’s Day and made her debut in 2007. She participated in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows from 2008-2010 and has also walked fro Givenchy, Zac Posen, Chanel, and Miu Miu. She’s done campaigns for GAp, Emporio Armani, Louis Vuitton and Calvin Klein’s new fragrance Eternity Aqua for Her.

2. Jourdan Dunn

The 22-year-old Brit was discovered in 2006 and was the first black model to walk a Prada runway in over a decade. In 2008, Style.com listed her as one of the top 10 newcomers and in that same year she was named “Model of the Year” at the British Fashion Awards. Somehow, Models.com only ranks her 28th on their top 50 list. She’s done campaigns for Benetton, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue in addition to appearing in mags like Vogue, Pop, i-D, Elle, W, V, and Dazed & Confused.

1. Candice Swanepoel

The 23-year-old South African has walked for Tommy Hilfiger, Diane von Furstenberg, Jean Paul Gaultier and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show the past 5 years (2007-2011). She’s also appeared on the covers of Vogue, Elle, GQ, and Harper’s Bazaar plus ads for Nike, Diesel, Guess? and Versace. FHM placed her at #61 in their 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll while Maxim ranked her #31 on their Hot 100 list. Models.com ranked her #18 on their Top 50 Women and #3 on the Top Sexiest Models countdown.
