Dailymotion Launches On-Demand Content Hubs
Curation allows near-instant launch of demand-informed video content hubs around timely events
such as CES
Hubs offer advertisers and partners more precise targeting opportunities around topics in real-time demand by consumers
Dailymotion, one of the world’s most popular video entertainment sites, today announced the launch of on-demand, curated content hubs. The demand driven hubs are rapid-response, trend-driven sections around timely events and interest areas that consumers are actively looking for, such as the CES 2011 hub that includes the latest clips from this week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. On-demand content hubs combine Dailymotion’s search analytics data, content curation expertise and large library of premium, independent and user generated content.
In real time, Dailymotion’s curation team can identify and respond to a major news event or trend, such as a Twitter or search trend, curate relevant content and launch a hub around the topic. The result is a demand-informed video content hub that delivers content that consumers are looking to view and share at that time of year, day or hour that also provides advertisers with content sections that address the hottest topics for consumers.
Permanent hubs including Movie Trailers, Celebrity, Gaming and Music will be continuously updated to reflect trending topics. Temporary hubs for timely events and interests such as 2010 in review, Comic Con and NY Fashion Week will also be added on an ongoing basis. Dailymotion’s scalable pre-roll advertising, branded entertainment distribution and sponsored-section integration are available for advertisers across all hubs and channels.
“In today’s on-demand environment, viewers are looking for the fastest, easiest ways to discover and share content that is meaningful to them in the moment” commented Joy Marcus, General Manager of Dailymotion, US. “Hubs build on our already successful curated channels strategy, enhancing the content discovery experience on Dailymotion.”
The site’s curation strategy has been an important factor in the growth of its US business, with traffic doubling year over year to 15.7 million monthly visitors in October 2010 (source: comScore).
