Last week, Dailymotion was one of the launch partners for Microsoft’s release of the new Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) beta version. This was a huge launch for Microsoft and one that really highlighted Dailymotion’s focus on creating the best possible online video entertainment experience.

The launch highlighted Dailymotion’s new HTML5 player beta and demo (test drive video is here). Our fast, social-media optimized player takes advantage of the latest Web standards and permits streaming-video playback without the need for plug-ins. IE9 offers users a more app-like experience by allowing them to “pin” the site to your task bar in Windows 7 as you can with any app. So launching Dailymotion is as fast and easy as launching any Windows application.

We also received some great attention from the news media. Internet.com talks about the powerful features that Dailymotion makes use of: “some of the companies that have already started to implement sites based on IE9′s new features, including Facebook, Red Bull, Quiksilver, Rough Guides, LiveStrong, Twitter, Dailymotion, the Wall Street Journal, CNN, and Orbitz… take advantage of IE9′s more powerful HTML5 graphics engine, enhanced CSS3 support, and Document Object Model (DOM) improvements”.

Softpedia lists Dailymotion as part of its article on 54 amazing sites to try with IE9 beta: “but there is additional bleeding edge content from various web design firms, and new perspectives on entertainment and news from BBC, CNN, Hulu, Vimeo, and Daily Motion [sic].”
